摘要: An electric motor system (100) implements a redundant wye-wounded motor (104) that includes first phase leads (112), second phase leads (114), first neutral leads (116), and second neutral leads (118). The first and second phase leads (112, 114) receive alternating current (AC) power from a power supply. A controller (110) detects a circuit fault among a plurality of different types of circuit faults, and controls the operation of one or both of the primary neutral-lead switch (115) and the second neutral-lead switch (117) based on the circuit fault.

In both the first and second positions the full axial length of one of the rotor or stator is axially within the axial length of the other.
