    摘要: Embodiments are provided for WLAN OFDMA operations in uplink and downlink transmissions. For OFDMA downlink transmission, an access point (AP) sends a signaling requesting protection of a transmission channel from access by stations (STAs) associated with the AP. The AP then sends an OFDMA physical layer Protocol Data Unit (PPDU) and a Block Acknowledgement Request (BAR) to the STAs, and receives a Block Acknowledgement (BA) from each one of the STAs. For OFDMA uplink transmissions, an STA sends a signaling requesting protection of a transmission channel from access by the AP. The STA then sends, to the AP, a frame indicating start of OFDMA transmission by the STA, and receives, from the AP, an OFDMA Begin Receive (OBR) frame, which is sent by the AP to participating STAs. The STA then sends an OFDMA PPDU and a BAR to the AP, and receives a BA in return.

    摘要: An orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) frame includes a 256 tone payload. The 256 tone payload may consist of either 234 data tones when the payload is carried in a downlink transmission. The 256 tone payload may consist of 216 data tones when the payload is carried in an uplink transmission. In addition, the OFDMA frame may include one or more resource units (RUs). Each of the one or more RUs may consist of either an integer multiple of 26 data tones or an integer multiple of 24 data tones and 2 pilot tones. Another embodiment OFDMA frame comprises a symbol-based RU (SRU) that may include an integer multiple of 2 pilots tones and either an integer multiple of 24 data tones or an integer multiple of 26 data tones.

Embodiments include indicating control features in an EDMG PPDU for Wireless LAN communications. The method and system may include overloading at least one bit of a Scrambler Initialization Field in the PPDU header (e.g. the PHY header) to convey control information, as well as to be used to initialise the scrambler shift register. The same header bits are thus used for both purposes. Examples of control information include a primary channel, channel width or MIMO configuration to be used in further communication.

    摘要: An orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) frame tone allocation includes a 256 tone payload consisting of 228 data and pilot tones and 28 null tones. The 28 null tones consist of guard tones and at least one direct current (DC) tone. In one example, the 256 tone payload consists of 224 data tones, 4 common pilot tones, and 28 null tones. In another example, the 256 tone payload consists of 222 data tones, 6 common pilot tones, and 28 null tones. In yet another example, the 256 tone payload may consist of 220 data tones, 8 common pilot tones, and 28 null tones. The OFDMA frame may be a downlink OFDMA frame or an uplink OFDMA frame.
