摘要: This application provides a method for compressing lidar data and an apparatus. The method for compressing lidar data includes: obtaining to-be-compressed data, where the to-be-compressed data is measurement data collected by lidar through N transmissions, and N ≥ 1; when the to-be-compressed data includes corresponding distance measurement data and signal intensity measurement data, compressing the distance measurement data to obtain a first bitstream; and predicting the signal intensity measurement data based on the distance measurement data to obtain a second bitstream. In this application, an amount of the to-be-compressed data can be greatly reduced. In particular, a larger quantity of 0 values indicates higher compression efficiency. This reduces occupied bitstreams.

The method for compressing a 3D map includes: obtaining a plurality of 3D map point spatial locations and a plurality of 3D map point descriptors (S101); determining a correspondence between the plurality of 3D map point spatial locations and the plurality of 3D map point descriptors, where the correspondence represents that a 3D map point spatial location and a 3D map point descriptor correspond to a same 3D map point (S102); and performing compression processing on the plurality of 3D map point spatial locations and the plurality of 3D map point descriptors based on the correspondence, or performing compression processing on the plurality of 3D map point spatial locations, the plurality of 3D map point descriptors, and the correspondence, to obtain compressed data of a plurality of 3D map points (S103). In this method, storage space used for storing the 3D map can be reduced, or transmission resources used for transmitting the 3D map can be reduced.

In this application, a data amount of the 3D map can be reduced, so that transmission bandwidth is reduced, and transmission efficiency is improved.

摘要: Embodiments of this application relate to 3D map compression technologies and disclose a 3D map compression method and apparatus, and a 3D map decompression method and apparatus. The compression method includes: performing compaction processing on a to-be-encoded descriptor to obtain a first compact representation of the to-be-encoded descriptor, where the to-be-encoded descriptor corresponds to at least one 3D map point on a 3D map; obtaining a compact representation of at least one reference descriptor corresponding to the to-be-encoded descriptor; obtaining a second compact representation of the to-be-encoded descriptor based on the first compact representation of the to-be-encoded descriptor and the compact representation of the at least one reference descriptor; and encapsulating the second compact representation to obtain a bitstream of the 3D map. According to embodiments of this application, 3D map transmission overheads or 3D map storage overheads can be reduced.
