A method for encoding or decoding an LDPC code with variable code lengths is provided in an embodiment of the present invention. The method includes: obtaining a base exponential matrix of an LDPC code and grouping code lengths during construction of the base exponential matrix; correcting the base exponential matrix according to a grouping correction factor to obtain an exponential matrix of the group corresponding to the grouping correction factor; extending the exponential matrix by using an extension factor of a code length in the group to obtain an LDPC matrix corresponding to the code length; and implementing encoding or decoding by using the LDPC matrix. The method for encoding or decoding an LDPC code with variable code lengths provided in an embodiment of the present invention can be used to ensure that no small cycles occur at each required code length of the LDPC code obtained through multiple constructions. Thus, the performance can be greatly improved. In addition, a device for encoding or decoding, an encoder, and a decoder are provided in embodiments of the present invention.

The method includes: receiving, by a receiver via N receiving antennas, a plurality of channel estimation preamble signals sent by M transmitting antennas of a remote transmitter, wherein the plurality of channel estimation preamble signals contain measurement signals of the M transmitting antennas, and M and N are integers larger than 1; determining, by the receiver, channel estimation parameters and channel phase shift parameters from the M transmitting antennas of the remote transmitter to the N receiving antennas of the receiver according to the measurement signals of the M transmitting antennas of the remote transmitter; and determining, by the receiver, signal compensation from the M transmitting antennas of the remote transmitter to the N receiving antennas of the receiver according to the channel estimation parameters and the channel phase shift parameters. As a result, a first bit corresponding to the second-type symbol is definitely from another code word different from the first code word. A bit in the second-type symbol and from the another code word may be demodulated by using information about the first code word, so that the bit in the second-type symbol and from the another code word can be demodulated more accurately, thereby lowering a signal-to-noise ratio requirement during higher order modulation.
