摘要: A valve trim for a pressure reduction valve containing a plurality of high hydraulic flow resistance flowpaths therethrough. Each flowpath comprises at least two inlets (208,209) and at least one impingement zone (210) having two zone inlets (211,212) and two zone outlets (213,214). The zone inlets (211,212) communicate with the inlets (208,209) and are arranged substantially 180 degrees to one another. The two zone outlets (213,214) are arranged substantially perpendicular to the zone inlets (211,212) such that flow entering the two zone inlets (211,212) mutually impinges on itself creating an area of high energy loss, and thereafter separates and exits through the zone outlets (213,214).

摘要: An apparatus and method for producing a frozen beverage employs a freeze chamber (134) for receiving a beverage solution such that, in use, liquid freezes out of the beverage solution to form frozen particles on a curved internal circumferential wall (130) of the chamber (134). The frozen particles are sheared from the wall (130) by a vortex induced in the fluid with an impeller (144) such that the particles are entrained in the beverage solution creating an ice slurry. A cage (156) is free to rotate in the chamber (134) and assist shearing of the frozen particles from the wall (130). The relative speed of rotation between the impeller (144) and cage (156) can be used to control cooling means for forming the frozen particles on the wall (130) such that an ice fraction is produced that is suitable for dispensing as a frozen beverage.

摘要: A fluid flow control valve, especially for severe service, e.g. gas and oil power application, comprises a plurality of vortex chambers (9) through each of which fluid flows in substantially vortex fashion between an inlet channel (8) and a pair of opposed outlets (10, 11). Fluid enters each vortex chamber (9) from its associated inlet channel (8) in a substantially tangential direction wherein it splits into two flowpaths, each having both radial and axial components, leading to respective ones of the outlets (10, 11). The dual vortex outlet arrangement serves to further reduce the noise and erosion problems associated with severe service valves.

摘要: A valve (100) comprising a magnetic circuit comprising a first member (101) and a pivotably mounted armature (102) the armature being movable between a position in which the valve seal (104) engages the valve seat (105) of valve port (103) to block the valve port (103), and a position away from the first member (101). A coil (106) surrounds the armature (102) which, when supplied with an electric current, creates a magnetic field in the armature (102) attracting the free end to the first member (101). Dampening pads (110) are provided on the armature (102). Each dampener pad (110) comprises a layer of viscoelastic material covered by a protective layer of polyetheretherketone (PEEK). During use, as there is wear between the armature (102) and the first member (101), and/or non magnetic section (107), the dampening pad (110) is compressed on impact by an increasing degree, thus the more worn the valve becomes, the more the dampening and thus the greater the protection against further wear.

摘要: An apparatus and method for producing an ice slurry for use as a refrigerant employs a freeze chamber (34) for receiving a refrigerant solution such that, in use, liquid freezes out of the refrigerant solution to form frozen particles on a curved internal circumferential wall of the freeze chamber (34). The frozen particles are sheared from the wall by a vortex induced in the solution with an auger (45) such that the particles are entrained in the solution creating an ice slurry. A cage (56) is free to rotate in the freeze chamber (34) and assist shearing of the frozen particles from the wall. The relative speed of rotation between the auger (45) and cage (56) can be used to control cooling means for forming the frozen particles on the wall such that an ice fraction is produced that is suitable for suitable for use as a refrigerant. The ice slurry refrigerant may be used to cool a beverage product transferred from a bulk storage location to a dispense point, for example to cool beer contained in a beer line between a keg and a dispense tap.
