    摘要： A fully self-contained drill rod loader is disclosed. The loader stores drill rod in a carousel (24). A first member (38), includes an arm (40) that is rotatable between a vertical position (as shown) and a horizontal position in which the arm lies alongside a slot (32) in the carousel (24) and can receive a rod from the carousel. The rod is grasped by a clamp (42) on the and the arm is rotated to its vertical position where it hands the rod onto a clamp (62) secured on a second arm (58) which is rotatable about a vertical axis (68) to position the rod on the drill (12).
    By reversing the movement, drill rods can be taken from the drill (12) and returned to the carousel (24).

The swivel is a transition from the rotating cutterhead to the stationary extraction riser pipes (18) disposed above the swivel. Non-rotating stabilizers stabilize the drill string.

    摘要： A compact, easily disassembled, minimum headroom drilling unit is disclosed. The drill, especially useful for newly developed vertical retreat mining methods, drills at compound angles from the vertical and horizontal directions.
    The drill includes a frame (12), wheels (14) for moving the drill, a column (16) pivotally attached to the frame, an hydraulic cylinder (40) for raising and lowering the column, a mast (18) supported by the column, the mast being movable through a predetermined arc (A) by a second hydraulic cylinder (48), and a drill motor (20) that can be moved up and down on the mast by a doubie-acting cylinder (22) fixed at each of its ends to the mast. The drill also includes jacks (36, 38 and 42) for maintaining the drill in the position.
