    摘要: A flat panel display (10) for presenting graphical renderings (16) of aircraft flight, operation and system status data to an aircraft pilot renders the data at various predetermined brightness levels depending on the category of data assigned to that data. Primary data appears on the screen (12) at a full brightness level and secondary data appears on the screen (12) at a brightness level less than the full brightness level. In this manner, a wide variety and range of aircraft flight, operation and system status data can be simultaneously conveyed to the pilot on a single display screen (12) through selective illumination of particular classes or categories of the data on the display at predetermined brightness levels, thereby advantageously directing the pilot's attention specifically to the primary data which is presented at full brightness.

    摘要: A thin flat panel display (100) for aircraft cockpits. This display uses a dual CPU/graphics generator systems (70 and 80) to produce simulated aircraft instrument display which is color coded to indicate when one of the graphic generators has not correctly received data from the aircraft bus (20). The display uses standard graphic generators (70 and 80) and CPUs (50 and 60), and does not require additional software. The display (100) also allows the aircraft systems to be continuously tested while the aircraft is on the ground. Morever, the inventive systems includes input touch devices which access external memories to display necessary flight and a landing information which allow the cockpit crew to expand in detail the external information for display on the flat panel.

    摘要: An internal electrostatic field-generating, beam-controlling element (20) in a cathode ray tube is formed by depositing an initially continuous layer of resistive material (30) on a substrate and applying a voltage differential across the coating to generate a field-generating current therethrough during operation of the tube. After completion of tube assembly and sealing of the tube envelope, the element (2) is custom fine-tuned by projecting an externally-originating laser beam through the envelope wall to selectively remove portions or areas (36, 37) of the resistive material, thereby predeterminately distorting the electrostatic field and selectively changing the effect of the field on the imaging electron beam. This procedure readily enables both correction of perceived deficiencies in and intentional modifications to one or more characteristics of the electron beam.

    摘要: On forme un élément (20) produisant un champ électrostatique interne servant à la commande du faisceau dans un tube cathodique, en déposant une couche initialement continue de matériau résistif (30) sur un substrat et en appliquant une différence de tension à travers le revêtement, afin de produire un courant produisant un champ traversant le revêtement pendant le fonctionnement du tube. A la fin des opérations d'assemblage du tube et après avoir scellé l'enveloppe de ce dernier, on ajuste l'élément (2) de manière précise en projetant de l'extérieur un faisceau laser à travers la paroi de l'enveloppe, de manière à éliminer sélectivement des parties ou zones (36, 37) de matériau résisitif, ce qui provoque une distorsion déterminée du champ électrostatique et modifie de manière sélective l'effet du champ sur le faisceau d'électrons du tube image. Ce procédé permet d'effectuer aisément la correction des défauts détectés, ainsi que d'apporter des modifications intentionnelles à une ou à plusieurs caractéristiques du faisceau d'électrons.
