Abstract:
The present invention relates to a receiver (100) comprised in a radio communication system, which receiver (100) is operable to optimise the use of the available dynamic range. The receiver (100) comprises an automatic gain control means (102) comprised in an automatic gain control loop. The receiver (100) also comprises a first measurement means (104) connected to said automatic gain control means (102) operable to measure the total received energy. The receiver (100) also comprises a second measurement means (106) connected to said automatic gain control means (102) operable to measure the inband signal energy. The automatic gain control means (102) is operable to adjust the gain in dependence of both the total received energy and the inband signal energy.
Abstract:
In a radio communication station having N antennas an antenna diversity system and a gain controllable amplifier the gain of the gain controllable amplifier is set by using a first antenna, the signal levels of signals received at the antennas is measured, a group of antennas is determined having a signal level which exceeds the signal level of the first antenna by no more than a predetermined value (X), and out of said group of antennas the antenna with the highest signal level is selected out or the first antenna is selected out if said group is empty.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for playback of MIDI melodies. The device comprises a first memory device for storing a MIDI melody. The device further comprises an integrated circuit 1 comprising a MIDI synthesizer 2 and a microcontroller 3. The microcontroller 3 is arranged to scan a MIDI melody in order to determine all instruments utilised in the MIDI melody. The microcontroller 3 is further arranged to store, in the first memory device 4, the determined instruments in a MIDI instrument log. The invention also relates to such a method. By means of the invention the on-chip memory required for implementing playback of MIDI melodies can be reduced.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and device for the correction of static mismatch errors in a D/A converter, where an input word, being the digital representation of an analogue input signal, is divided into one most significant part, a msb-word, and one least significant part, a lsb-word, and where said msb-word is represented by msb-bits and said lsb-word is represented by lsb-bits. The present invention teaches that the correction is performed by setting the effective weight of the least significant msb-bit to be less than the total sum of all lsb-bits, implementing a first look up table, LUT1, containing the most significant part of the error, so that a corrected msb-word, c-msb-word, would be equal to the msb-word plus a value in LUT1 representing the msb-word, and implementing a second look up table, LUT2, containing the least significant part of the error, so that a first corrected output, c1-output, would be equal to c-msb-word plus a value in LUT2 representing the c-msb-word added to the 1sb-word.
