摘要： A water treatment composition containing both an oxidizing component and an absorbing component, wherein one or both comprise nanostructured materials. The nanostructured materials may be agglomerated to form particles having an average longest dimension of at least one micrometer. The oxidizing component comprises a manganese-, silver-, and/or titanium-, zirconium-, aluminium-, and/or iron-containing composition. Both constituents amy comprise an oxide, hydroxide, or oxyhydroxide and both may be doped. The water treatment compositions are useful in at least partially removing contaminants such as metallic or cationic arsenic, lead, chromium, and/or mercury from water.
