摘要: According to the invention, a docking device is provided which allows two or more types of portable computers to be mounted on the docking device for use. The invention provides a docking device for providing electrical connections to a portable computer 14 mountable on the docking device, comprising: a main body portion 20; a retractable connector 26 for providing the electrical connections to said portable computer 14, said connector 26 being rotatably supported by said main body portion 20; and a handling means 48, 56, 60 for rotating said connector 26 between a connectable position where said connector is connectable with said portable computer 14 and a retracted position where said connector 26 is located so as to avoid contact between the connector 26 and a portable computer 12, 14 mounted on the docking device. In preferred embodiments, connector 24 for personal computer 12 is attached to the body 20 of the docking device. On support surface 22A of housing 22 a pair of guide members 30 is formed to extend along the direction of projection of connector 24 and to slidably support a flat tray 28 on which the personal computer 12 is mountable. In another position of the body 20, the connector 26 is supported for personal computer 14 which has a different and smaller size than personal computer 12.

摘要: To provide an information processing apparatus in which arbitrary removal of a device for processing information accommodated within a main body can be prevented, regardless of operation of an eject button or the like, and to provide an information processing apparatus in which such prevention can be realized in a simple structure and at a low cost.
A card insertion portion 80 accommodates PCMCIA cards 84. An engaging member 88 is provided so as to be freely installable and removable from the card insertion portion 80. In an installed state, the engaging member 88 corresponds to the PCMCIA cards 84 so as to prevent removal of the PCMCIA cards 84. The engaging member 88 is covered by a keyboard 22 when the keyboard 22 is closed. By selectively using the engaging member 88 and closing the keyboard 22, the engaging member 88 is prevented from being removed. Accordingly, the PCMCIA cards 84 are prevented from being removed from the card insertion portion 80. A single engaging member 88 can prevent removal of the PCMCIA cards 84, regardless of operation of eject buttons 86. 摘要: A keyboard interface for a data processing system in which a keyboard (6) and a data processing unit (8) are connected through a single clock line (4) for transmitting a keyboard out clock signal and a single data line (2) for transmitting a serial bit frame having a serial scan code identifying a depressed key in synchronism with the clock signal is disclosed. The interface uses a transmission error detection and resend procedure to prevent transmission error due to noise pulse induced on the clock line (4) as by electrostatic discharge to give rise to extra data sampling. The unit returns a status signal acknowledging the receipt of a frame to the keyboard (6) through the data line (2) immediately after the number of sampled bits received by the unit reaches the predetermined number of bits of a frame. The keyboard checks whether the status signal has been returned after the completion of transmission of a frame and, if not, returns a negative response to the unit through the clock line, then resending the same scan code. The interface permits the use of a low cost, low noise- tolerance stretch cable without shield.
