摘要:
The present invention provides particulate denture cleansing compositions generally in tablet form containing a peroxygen compound and an effervescence generator, together with sufficient acid or alkali generally to obtain a pH of pH2 to pH 12. The peroxygen compound comprises an hydrated magnesium salt of a substituted peroxygen compound having the empirical (anhydrous) formula: in which R o each represent hydrogen or both combine together to form an olefinic bond and R, and R 2 combine together with each other and the carbon atoms from which they depend to form a carbocyclic nucleus, which nucleus may optionally be further substituted by one or more of the functional groups selected from alkyl, carboxylate, percarboxylic acid, sulphonate, nitro, chloro and bromo groups; or in which R 1 and Ro each represent either hydrogen or an alkyl group and both R o combine together to form an olefinic bond; and n represents the number of carboxylate groups present in the compound, and is especially magnesium monoperoxyphthalate. The effervescence generator is often a solid organic acid such as succinic acid together with sodium carbonate or bicarbonate and/or anhydrous sodium perborate. At higher pHs, the composition preferably contains a complexing agent like sodium citrate in order to ameliorate a detectable impairment in the rate of dissolution of the tablet.

In one aspect the invention relates to aqueous detergent compositions and in a second aspect to bleach compositions both containing hydrogen peroxide and both particularised or modified by the presence of isopropyl alcohol as part of the stabiliser system therefor. In a third aspect the invention relates to premixes containing 20 to 35 % hydrogen peroxide, water, aliphatic alcohol, phosphonate and preferably a polyhydroxycarboxylate, which can be augmented by the other components of the detergent/bleach compositions and if necessary diluted without any risk of passing through hazardous intermediate compositions inadvertantly.

Sanitizer compositions are provided that contain magnesium salts of certain organic peroxyacid/carboxylate compounds especially magnesium monoperoxyphthalate, and an alkali metal chloride and can also contain a surfactant and a builder, in order to provide sanitizing and washing capability. The compositions are especially suited to sanitizing nappies.

The present invention relates to aqueous alkaline built detergent compositions containing hydrogen peroxide. Alkaline conditions present particular difficulties for preventing the hydrogen peroxide from decomposing excessively rapidly during storage. Aqueous compositions containing a builder, especially polyphosphate or citrate, anionic sulphate or sulphonate surfactant, nonionic ethoxylate surfactant and or sulphonate surfactant, nonionic ethoxylate surfaciant and hydrogen peroxide of acceptable peroxide stability can obtained by employing an alcohol, preterably ethanol, r a polyhydroxy carboxylate, preferably gluconate, or especially both, in conjunction with a phosphonate, especially an ethylene amine methylene phosphonate. Many of such alkaline compositions are formulated to permit the anionic surfactant to work at or near to its optimum pH in conjunction with the builder. The invention also provides similar, but unbuilt compositions containing instead of the builder, additional surfactant, generally nonionic surfactant, and having a somewhat lower pH.
