    摘要: The invention concerns an elevator and a method for energizing an elevator safety apparatus. The elevator comprises an elevator car (1), adapted for transferring passengers and/or cargo between landing floors (2); an elevator hoisting machine (3) for operating the elevator car (1); a drive unit (4) for driving the hoisting machine (3); and an elevator safety apparatus comprising at least one of a sensor (5), an indicator (6), a control unit (7) and an actuator (8) for ensuring safe elevator operation. The drive unit (4) is configured for delivering supply voltage to said elevator safety apparatus by controlling braking of the elevator hoisting machine (3) with a braking control mode designed for energizing the safety apparatus without need for an additional backup power supply, in case of an elevator power cut.
