A method for measuring an optical characteristic of lenses in eyeglasses with frames, a measuring instrument for executing it and collecting and sale systems of optical characteristic image data are disclosed herein. The measuring instrument is used to photograph pattern projecting images of patterns for optical characteristic measurement by means of a digital camera. The pattern projecting images (17) are projected through the lenses (12R,L) based on an illuminated light. The instrument comprises engaged standing plates for engaging the eyeglasses. Mounted on one engaged standing plate is a screen on which the pattern projecting images (17) are projected.

In the eye test system, information detecting portions such as a detecting terminals 31, 82, 41-46, ... are provided in a trial frame (eyeglass frame for test) 16, and information inputting terminals 99, 100 for inputting the information from the information detecting portions to the computer are provided as an inputting means.

The ophthalmologic photographing apparatus has: a light source mode setting switch for setting a combination of the observation light source in observation and the photographing light source in photographing; and a white balance adjusting circuit unit for conducting respective white balance adjustments corresponding to the observation light source and the photographing light source which are set based on setting of the light source mode setting switch.
