The shelving system (10) comprises at least one shelf (18) defining an edge face (22). At least one opening (50) is formed in the edge face and includes one or more projections (52). The system (10) further comprises at least one accessory (58) for fitting into the opening (50) and having a complementary shape in order to mate with the at least one projection (52) in the opening (50).
