摘要： A toilet ventilation device includes a housing that defines an air inlet aperture and an air outlet aperture. Within the housing are an air movement apparatus for drawing air into the device, a filter for removing malodorous elements in the air, and a radar sensor for activating the air movement apparatus in response to the presence of a user and, optionally, deactivating the air movement apparatus when the user leaves. The toilet ventilation device is configured and arranged to draw air, using the air movement apparatus, from the toilet, through the air inlet aperture, into contact with the filter, and out the air outlet aperture. In one embodiment, the toilet ventilation device is disposed over the overflow conduit of the toilet to draw air from the bowl of the toilet, through the overflow conduit, and into the toilet ventilation device. The entire toilet ventilation device is preferably disposed within a tank of a toilet.

摘要： A flush valve (26) for a toilet has a valve body (28) with a flow passage (44) that narrows non-linearly down from the valve seat (50). The flow passage (44) is formed by a surface that follows a polynomial expression so as to define a computationally derived flow profile that more closely follows the narrowing exhibited by falling water as it accelerates under gravity. The non-linear flow profile of the valve reduces the presence of air in the valve after a flush cycle is initiated so that greater flush efficiency can be achieved. The flush valve can also have a wide mouth overflow that narrows to improve in an overflow situation.

摘要： A toilet (10) has an electronic flush assembly operable in either a short or long flush sequence selectable by a user. The long flush sequence includes a pre-rinse cycle and a rinse cycle in which a supply valve (54) and a flush valve (26) are both opened and closed twice, once each first during the pre-rinse cycle and again during a subsequent rinse cycle. The rim supply valve and the flush valve are opened during the pre-rinse and rinse cycles but are closed at the start and end of each cycle. An electronic control (28) controls operation of the valves as well as water supply control components. Level sensors (48, 66) can also be included to provide feedback to the controller, for example, to prevent overflow conditions.

摘要： A canister type flush valve has an upright cup-shaped hollow float (30) working under buoyancy forces without a captured air volume that controls the valve during a flush cycle. Hooded bleed openings (70) at a bottom wall of the float can be sized and numbered to selectively control the closuring timing of the valve. Baffles (72) of the hood bleed openings redirect water bleeding into the float to prevent the water from spraying up against the top of the tank. The geometry of a seal retaining groove (80) is designed to reduce leakage at the float/seal interface. For example, the groove has an annular wall with a compound profile forming a non-cylindrical, preferably serpentine, seal contact area (96). The seal is backed by a slotted flange (82) located just above the retaining groove.
