摘要: A system for identifying an operator and managing access rights in connection with a crane (1-100). The crane includes control system (1-110) and a controller (1-200) positioned at a distance from it. The control system maintains a plurality of operator-specific parameters that define operator rights. An identifier reader (1-300) is placed in connection with the controller (1-200) for reading the operator's identifier (1-350) by using a first connection (1-360). A second connection (1-260) is set up between the identifier reader (1-300) and the control system (1-110) to send the operator's identifier (1-350), or information derived from it, to the control system (1-110). The control system (1-110) compares the operations requested through the controller (1-200) with the operator-specific parameters, which define operator rights, and allows the operation of the crane (1-100) only within the scope of rights associated with the operator's identifier (1-350).
