摘要: The invention relates to a method of checking the correct operation of a signal transformation wherein an input signal is transformed into an output signal. The method comprises: deriving a first robust feature from the input signal; deriving a second robust feature from the output signal; comparing said first and second robust features; in case of sufficient similarity, concluding a correct operation of said signal transformation, and in case of insufficient similarity, concluding a false operation of said signal transformation. In a special embodiment, the method is applied wherein the first robust feature is embedded in the input signal through watermark technology, the thus obtained signal being transmitted to a receiver so as to retrieve an output signal corresponding to said input signal.

摘要: For 'Super Audio CD' (SACD) the DSD signals are losslessly coded, using framing, prediction and entropy coding. Besides the efficiently encoded signals, a large number of parameters, i.e. the side-information, has to be stored on the SACD too. The side information comprises the prediction filter coefficients and the probability table which have been used for encoding, and which should be transmitted to the decoder. The smaller the storage capacity that is required for the side-information, the better the overall coding gain is. Therefore coding techniques are applied to the side-information too so as to compress the amount of data of the side information. The frames can be segmented, each segment having its own set of filter coefficients and probability table.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for modifying a representation based upon a user instruction and a system for producing a modified representation by said method. Conventional drawing systems, such as pen and paper and writing tablets, require a reasonable degree of drawing skill which not all users possess. Additionally, these conventional systems produce static drawings. The method of the invention comprises receiving a representation from a first user, associating the representation with an input object classification, receiving an instruction from a second user, associating the instruction with an animation classification, determining a modification of the representation using the input object classification and the animation classification, and modifying the representation using the modification. When the first user provides a representation of something, for example a character in a story, it is identified to a certain degree by associating it with an object classification. In other words, the best possible match is determined. As the second user imagines a story involving the representation, dynamic elements of the story are exhibited in one or more communication forms such as writing, speech, gestures, facial expressions. By deriving an instruction from these signals, the representation may be modified, or animated, to illustrate the dynamic element in the story. This improves the feedback to the users, and increases the enjoyment of the users.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and a device (104) for authenticating a plurality of physical tokens (101, 102, 103). A basic idea of the invention is to supply a sequence of interconnected devices (108, 109, 110), each device comprising a physical token (101, 102, 103), with a challenge of the respective physical token created during enrollment of said respective physical token, wherein the sequence of interconnected devices is arranged such that a data set supplied to the sequence is cryptographically processed with a response of a token comprised in a device and passed on to a token comprised in a subsequent device which further cryptographically processes the processed data set with its response until a response of a final physical token has been used to further cryptographically process the data set. Then, the data set which has been cryptographically processed with the responses of the tokens in the sequence is received and used together with the data set itself and data associated with the response of the respective token to authenticate the sequence of physical tokens.

摘要: The invention relates to methods, devices, a system of devices and a signal where additional information is embedded in media content. The system includes a device (10) providing additional information (O, D) in a signal (y) having media content, comprising a first mapping unit (14) mapping the amplitude values of the media content onto first new values, and a multiplexing unit (16) inserting the additional information into the mapped media content. The system also includes a device (12) for receiving additional information (O, D) in a signal (y) having media content, comprising a demultiplexing unit (22) arranged to receive a signal including media content (xQ) the amplitude values of which have been mapped onto first new values together with additional embedded information (O, D), and remove the additional information from the mapped media content. The invention allows insertion of watermarks into media content such as audio.

摘要: A filtering method is proposed wherein first several filtering steps (I-III,IV-VI) are made. Each step (I-III,IV-VI) includes: generating a filtered signal (I,IV), rounding this filtered signal (II,V) to a certain accuracy and combining (III,VI) the rounded signal with the input signal, whereby a filter error is obtained. The filtered signals are combined (VII) to a first filtered signal that is rounded (VIII) and combined (IX) with the input signal, whereby a coded signal is obtained. This allows to adapt the rounding step (II,V) and the combining step (III,VI) in each filtering step to the specific filter design. Thereby limit cycles are reduced, the first filtered signal is available for further processes and the rounding can be inverted in the reverse process. Further a filter method for the reverse process, filter devices (1,10) able to perform these methods and devices (20,30,40,50,60) containing such devices are provided.

摘要: The invention relates to the coding of digital information signal blocks comprising representation symbols, such as sampled values, by means of an adaptive variable-length coding, such as Huffman coding. The JPEG Standard also utilizes adaptive Huffman coding but the coding in accordance with this standard is inefficient when a comparatively large number of Huffman coding tables are to be transmitted. According to the invention, in the case of a small number of representation symbols per information signal block, the probabilities of occurrence of each of the representation symbols are transmitted together with the variable-length-coded representation symbols, a similar (de)coding table being generated both in the encoder and in the decoder on the basis of said probabilities. In the case of a larger number of representation symbols per information signal block information about the number of code words of each length and/or the maximum code length in each series of variable-length-coded representation symbols is added to this series. By means of this information the decoder can unambiguously generate a coding table. The invention provides a substantial reduction of the number of bits required for specifying the Huffman code tables.
