摘要: A hair treatment device comprises an IPL lamp driven with pulses of energy. A switch is in series with the IPL lamp and is switched at a frequency in the range 50 kHz to 500 kHz to provide pulsed delivery of current to the IPL lamp with pulses shorter than the overall IPL pulse duration The current modulation is used to eliminate the initial current peak and its associated peak in light output. The modulation can be used during the entire IPL pulse, or only during a fraction of it, while the duty cycle or the frequency of the modulation can change during the IPL pulse in order to optimize the light output.

摘要: A human-tissue treatment device (1) comprises a plate-shaped light output member (25) having a contact surface (27) via which collimated treatment light (21) is transmissible to human tissue (41). An inner surface (29) of the light output member has a faceted optical structure (31). A geometry of the optical structure, a refractive index value (n1) of the material of the light output member, and an average propagation direction (PAV2) of the treatment light received by the optical structure are such that the contact surface reflects, at locations of no contact with the human tissue, the treatment light by total internal reflection towards the optical structure and via the optical structure out of the light output member, and transmits, at locations of contact with the human tissue, the treatment light into the human tissue. A plate-shaped light-redirecting member (53) with a faceted optical structure (61) may be arranged parallel and adjacent to the light output member to redirect the treatment light emitted by a light source (5) of the device into the average propagation direction (PAV2).

摘要: A method of handling a biopsy sample using a magnetic field is presented as well as a system for imaging a biopsy sample with a magnetic element and for magnetically handling the biopsy sample. The handling of the sample is done by means of an external magnetic field. Such an external magnetic field can be provided by, for example, the system as exemplary shown in Figure 5, but can also be provided by a user manually. For biopsy handling the inventors of the present invention propose to attach the biopsy to a magnetic element. For example, one can glue the sample either to a permanent magnet or a ferromagnetic material. Especially cyanoacrylate has proven to be a stable glue within the clearing fluid in which biopsy samples are typically imaged. The biopsy sample can then be hold immobile during the imaging while still immersed into the clearing fluid or it can be rotated for several imaging angles within the clearing fluid by using the external magnetic element.

摘要: A hair-cutting head (10) for a hair-cutting device (100) having two sets (22, 24) of light sources which are configured to emit light predominantly in different respective wavelength bands. A first set (22) emits light in a wavelength band of 400-500 nm. A second set (24) emits light in a wavelength band of 500 nm and above. For improved eye safety, the first set of light sources is arranged so that its light output is projected onto the user's skin (23) during operation only via a central region (56) of a skin-contacting area (54) of the hair-cutting head (10). The second set (24) of light sources is arranged so that its light output is provided on the user's skin during operation only via a peripheral region (58) of the same skin-contacting area. This arrangement aims to make it more likely that the light of the first set (24) of light sources is fully shielded by the contact of skin to the hair-cutting head during normal operation, protecting the eyes from this light.

摘要: The present invention relates to image analysis of pathology images. In order to improve reliability in image analysis of pathology images, a method is provided for providing support in identifying at least one feature of a tissue sample in a microscopic image. The method comprises the steps of providing a first image of a first microscopy modality representing an area of the tissue sample, providing a second image of a second microscopy modality representing the said area of the tissue sample, generating a first high intensity image by applying a first high intensity filter to the first image or a first low intensity image by applying a first low intensity filter to the first image to obtain first information of the at least one feature, generating a second high intensity image by applying a second high intensity filter to the second image or a second low intensity image by applying a second low intensity filter to the second image to obtain second information of the at least one feature, calculating a correlation of an image pair comprising one of the first high intensity image and the first low intensity image and one of the second high intensity image and the second low intensity image for correlating the first information and the second information of the at least one feature, and outputting the calculated correlation for providing support in identifying the at least one feature of the tissue sample.
