摘要： There is provided a computer-implemented method of identifying a body part of a subject on which a hand-held personal care device is used. The hand-held device comprises a head portion for contacting skin of the subject during the personal care operation. The hand-held device further comprises one or more sensors for measuring a respective parameter and generating respective measurement signals as the hand-held device is used on the skin of the subject, and the one or more sensors comprises at least one of (a) a skin contact sensor, (b) a skin tone sensor, and (c) a proximity sensor. The method comprises: analysing the obtained one or more measurement signals using a trained machine learning model, MLM, to identify the body part of the subject that the hand-held device is used on; and outputting an indication of the identified body part.

The processing unit (46) is configured to control the projection unit (22) to project the light pattern on to the surface of the body in a projection position indicative of a next treatment position on the body to which the personal care device (2) is to be moved by the user from a current treatment position on the body.

The treatment device is configured to apply a light pulse to skin of a subject to perform a treatment operation to hairs on the skin. The apparatus comprises a processing unit configured to receive one or more images of a first area of the skin from an imaging unit, wherein the imaging unit is arranged to obtain images of the skin of the subject; process the one or more images to determine whether the hairs on the first area of the skin have been treated with a light pulse based on a degree of at least one of carbonisation and curling of the hairs on the first area of the skin as shown in the one or more images; and output a first signal indicating whether the hairs on the first area of skin have been treated with a light pulse.
