摘要: The invention discloses a computer-implemented method (1600) of determining a location of a personal care device with respect to a skin surface of a subject. The method comprises receiving (1602) data representative of a measured curvature of the skin surface within a first region of the skin surface of the subject, with which the personal care device is in contact; determining (1604), by comparing the measured curvature with curvature information for a plurality of regions of the skin surface of the subject contained in a database, an indication of a location of the first region of the skin surface on the subject; and performing (1606), based on the determined indication of the location of the first region, an action in respect of the personal care device. A processing apparatus, a system, a personal care device and a computer program product are also disclosed.

摘要: Provided is a method and an apparatus thereof for measuring a skin characteristic. The apparatus comprises a processor configured to receive, over a time period T, a first response indicating intensities of light of a first wavelength λ 1 reflected from skin, and a second response indicating intensities of light of a second wavelength λ 2 reflected from the skin. It further receives a first indication of a total intensity of the light corresponding to the first response and a second total intensity of light corresponding to the second response, which are emitted to the skin over the time period T. A first variation curve (10) with the first response as a function of the first indication and a second variation curve (11) with the second response as a function of the second indication is determined. The processor further determines a portion of each variation curve, along which portion the variation is substantially linear. It then calculates slopes at at least one point in said portion of the variation curves, and determines a value of the skin characteristic from a ratio of the slopes.

摘要: According to an aspect, there is provided a method for determining a value of a skin parameter for skin of a subject. The method comprises receiving (510) a first sensor signal that is output by a first light sensor that is arranged to receive light emitted by a first light source after interaction of the emitted light with the skin. The first sensor signal is output while the first light source operates according to a first duty cycle to intermittently emit the light, and the emitted light has a first central wavelength. The method also comprises receiving (520) a first modulation reference signal that is related to the first duty cycle; integrating (530) a first function output signal, resulting from a function of the first sensor signal and the first modulation reference signal, to determine a first integrated value; determining (540) a first number of cycles of the emitted light that are required for the first integrated value to exceed a first threshold value; and determining (550) the value of the skin parameter based on the determined first number of cycles.

The treatment device comprises: an optical diffuser arranged on the treatment device such that an outer surface of the optical diffuser is proximate to, or in contact with, skin of the subject when the treatment device is to be used to perform the treatment operation; and an imaging unit for obtaining one or more images using light passing through the optical diffuser into the treatment device; wherein the treatment device is further configured for providing one or more images to a processing unit for determination of whether the treatment device is in contact with the skin.
