The present invention relates to a method for producing hydrogen, with reduced carbon dioxide emissions, from a hydrocarbon mixture. In said method, the hydrocarbon mixture is reformed (2) so as to produce a synthetic gas that is cooled (4) then treated in a (HT) shift reactor (6) so as to be enriched with H 2 and CO 2 . Optionally dried (10), said mixture is treated in a PSA hydrogen purification unit (12) in order to produce hydrogen. The residue is treated by means of partial condensation with a view to capturing CO 4 (20) before said residue is sent as fuel to reforming (28). According to the invention, the CO 2 emissions in the fumes are reduced by converting the carbon monoxide, from the synthetic gas that has not reacted during the high-temperature shift reaction, into carbon dioxide via a second shift reaction (23) downstream from the PSA. The CO 2 emissions are moreover reduced by capturing the thus-generated additional CO 2 (27) prior to sending it as fuel.
