In one embodiment the designated mode is a business mode and the non-designated mode is a private mode, whereby it is restricted to shift particular information from the business mode to the private mode.     Failing to switch to a second mode can also cause that the terminal is restricted to run only a basic application like a phonebook or a voice call.
