The manufacture of combination frames is avoided by using a rectangular cover frame dimensioned to enclose a box for a mains switch or a mains outlet. The cover frame is provided with opposing outer edge portions, forming at least one bar which may be separated from the rest of the cover frame. In addition to rendering the use of special combination frames superfluous when several closely interspaced switches and outlet are needed, the described cover frame comply with several national, European standard specifications as well as market related specifications.

In a method of providing a wall with a concealed installation for receiving electrical components, first an extended duct system (4, 15) is established in connection with the erection of the framework, e.g. in the form of studs (1, 2), so that the framework may form the basis for wall plates (3). According to the invention, studs and duct system are so built relative to each other that a plane side of the duct adjoins an internal face of a wall plate (3). When the wall plate (3) is then mounted, the wall may be drilled by means of a drill (6), and a box (7) may be inserted for receiving different items of electrical installation equipment.
