摘要： A fuel injection pumping apparatus for supplying fuel to a compression ignition engine has a low pressure pump (10) which supplies fuel to a high pressure pump (13) by way of a throttle (12). The high pressure pump has a piston (18) for varying the timing of delivery of fuel. A first fixed orifice (22) connects the outlet (11) of the low pressure pump to the cylinder containing the piston (18) and a second fixed orifice (23) connects the cylinder with a drain by way of a variable orifice (25A). In parallel with the second fixed orifice (23) is a bypass valve 34 including a valve member (35) responsive to the pressure applied to the piston (18) and which with increasing pressure opens to allow fuel to escape through a further fixed orifice (39) from downstream of the second fixed orifice (23).

摘要： A fuel pumping apparatus for supplying fuel to an internal combustion engine has an injection pump 10 supplied with fuel by a low pressure feed pump 14 through an adjustable throttle 16. A fluid pressure operable piston 12 is movable against the action of a spring 13 to control the timing of delivery of fuel by the injection pump. Fuel under pressure is applied to the piston through a first fixed orifice 20 from the feed pump. A second fixed orifice 22 and a variable orifice 23 are connected in series between a drain and the downstream side of the first fixed orifice. In parallel with the first fixed orifice is a constant pressure drop valve 26 which maintains the pressure drops across the first fixed orifice substantially constant when the pressure drop has risen to a predetermined value.

摘要： A fuel system is disclosed which comprises a fuel pump (10), a spill valve (11) and an injector (12) provided in a single unit. The injector (12) includes a valve member (21) biased towards a seating by a coiled compression spring (23). The spring (23) is engaged between a spring abutment (25) of the valve member (21) and a piston (27). The piston (27) is arranged such that the face thereof facing away from the spring (23) has fuel applied thereto when the spill valve (11) is opened in order to assist movement of the valve member (21) into engagement with the seating.
