The nano-particles can include pharmaceutical compositions, taggants, contrast agents, biologic drugs, drug compositions, organic materials, and the like. The molds can be virtually any shape and less than 10 micron in cross-sectional diameter.

The present invention relates to a method of transferring a pattern, comprising rolling a patterned master comprising a patterned structure with a curable material against a backing layer, and conforming the curable material to the structure defined in the patterned master to transfer a shape of the patterned structure to form a plurality of cavities in the curable material, wherein the cavities substantially mimic the patterned structure, curing the curable material to form a laminate of the cured curable material and the backing layer, wherein the backing layer introduces a modulus of greater than 1000 MPa to the laminate.
