    摘要: A measuring electrode (27) and an adjacent electrode (28) are embedded in an insulating substrate (26). The exposed surface of the electrode system is coated with a porous substance (29) carrying an oxidation reductase (30) and, if needed, an electron acceptor (31) in a dry state, to form a biosensor. A predetermined voltage is applied between the electrodes (27, 28) of the biosensor, and a matrix-containing sample is dropped on the porous substance (29). A current proportional to the substrate concentration flows, so it is possible to quantitatively determine the matrix concentration of various biological samples highly accurately, rapidly and easily.

    摘要: A rechargeable negative pole for an electrochemical apparatus using a non-aqueous electrolyte is made of an alloy consisting essentially of one element selected from the group of Sn, Pb, In and Bi, with Zn or Zn and Cd. A rechargeable electrochemical apparatus is provided with a combination of this negative pole and a positive pole, and can be reversibly charged. When immersed in a non-aqueous electrolyte containing alkali metal ions, the negative pole reversibly occludes and emits the alkali metal ions by this charge and discharge. The negative pole has a long charge-and-discharge life, since however many times the charge and discharge is repeated, the negative pole is not fragmented, and the negative pole maintains its electrode configuration stably. In addition, since the amount of alkali metal occluded per unit volume is large, the energy density is high.

    摘要: The electrode systems (13, 14, 15) consisting mainly of carbon on an insulated substrate (12), and the surfaces of said electrode systems are coated with an insulating layer (16) while parts (13', 14', 15') thereof being exposed. A porous member (18), which retains oxygen and electron receptors thereon, and a retainer frame (17) are then provided on the upper surface of the resultant product. A cover (19) having an opening with the diameter smaller than that of the porous member (18) is then placed on the resultant product, and all of these parts are combined integrally. Owing to such a construction, an inexpensive disposable biosensor capable of carrying out a measuring operation easily can be obtained. When heat-treated at 60-170oC for 1-8 hours during the formation of the electrode systems, the preservation stability of the biosensor can be improved. By subjecting the surfaces of the measuring electrodes to a protein adsorption treatment, the dispersion of response currents can be prevented.

Thus, measurement can be conducted inexpensively at a high speed with a high accuracy through simple procedures without residual bubbles.
