    摘要: A distal section of an implantable medical electrical lead body includes a pair of pre-formed arcuate segments between which an approximately straight segment extends. The approximately straight segment includes a first portion extending distally from a first of the pair pre-formed arcuate segments, a second portion extending from the first portion, a third portion extending from the second to a second of the pair pre-formed arcuate segments. An electrode is coupled to the second portion of the approximately straight segment, and the adjacent first portion has a stiffness which is less than that of the first of the pair pre-formed arcuate segments and preferably less than the stiffness of the third portion, so that, when the distal section of the lead body is implanted, for example, within a cardiac vein, the lead buckles to bring the electrode into closer contact with surrounding tissue.

The elongated lead body comprises a length between a proximal end and a shaped distal end, The lead body includes a longitudinal axis extending between the proximal end and the shaped distal end. Each electrode includes an electrically active portion and an insulated portion at an outer circumference of the electrode. If the lead body rotates within the delivery catheter, the lead body is configured to rotate back into a position such that the electrically active portion of a set of electrodes faces myocardial tissue when exiting the guide catheter while the insulated portion of electrode are diametrically opposed to neural tissue such as the phrenic nerve.

    摘要: An improved connection system for coupling a device such as a pacemaker (121), cardioverter, defibrillator, nerve stimulator, muscle stimulator, implantable monitor or other medical device to a medical lead (190) is disclosed. The connection system includes a coupling member (100) designed to couple to the proximal end of the lead. This coupling member, which includes an inner lumen sized to form a press fit around the proximal end of the lead body, may be of a generally tubular construction. This coupling member includes connector means to enable a connector pin at the proximal end of the lead to mechanically and electrically couple to a device. The connector means may further include means for coupling both mechanically and electrically to a ring connector on the proximal end of a multi-polar lead. An insertion member may (110) also be provided to allow the lead to be more easily inserted within the inner lumen of the coupling member.
