The distance L between connection planes between pairs of dielectric strips (1, 2) adjacent in the direction of propagation of an electromagnetic wave is set to an odd number multiple of 1/4 of the guide wavelength. Reflected waves are thereby superposed in phase opposition to each other to cancel out. In this manner, propagation of a reflected signal to ports is limited.

An HE-mode dielectric resonator (4) and four dielectric strips (3a to 3d) to be coupled to the resonator (4) are disposed between the two conductor plates. The adjacent four dielectric strips (3a to 3d) are spaced from each other substantially at 90 degrees. Accordingly, signals propagating in two strip lines (3a to 3d) positioned substantially at 180 degrees and signals propagating in the remaining two strip lines cross each other within the dielectric resonator (4) without interfering with each other.

A nonradiative planar dielectric line exhibits low transmission losses and is easily connectable to electronic components. A first slot (24) is provided between two electrodes (21a, 21b) on a first main surface of a dielectric plate (23). A second slot (25) is provided between two electrodes (22a, 22b) on a second main surface of the dielectric plate (23). A first conductor (28) is electrically connected to the electrodes (21a, 21b) on the first main surface and also covers the first slot (24). A second conductor (29) is electrically connected to the electrodes (22a, 22b) on the second main surface and also covers the second slot (25). An integrated circuit using the above type of dielectric line is also provided. Thus, apparatuses using the above dielectric lines or integrated circuits are miniaturized.
