摘要: A reinforcing structure (10) for a tyre bead comprises several layers (18, 20, 22) built up by means of only one steel wire (12). The steel wire (12) has - in aged condition - a tensile strength lying above 3100 - 600xd MPa where d is the wire diameter expressed in millimeter, has a total elongation at fracture of maximum 2.5 %, and has an elastic elongation of at least 1.0 %. Substantial weight savings can be realised by means of this reinforcing structure.

摘要: A steel cord (10) adapted for the reinforcement of an elastomer comprises steel filaments (12,14) of a pearlitic structure. The steel cord has a plastic and elastic elongation at break of x % and a plastic and elastic elongation capability in the vulcanized elastomer of y %, the values x and y fulfilling following equation : y - 0.50 ≤ x ≤ y + 0.50, which means that the total elongation at break does not reduce considerably after embedding the steel cord into an elastomer.

摘要: A steel cord (14) comprises a core filament (16) with a first diameter d₁, four or five intermediate layer filaments (10) with a second diameter d₂ and ten outer layer filaments (20) with a third diameter d₃. The intermediate layer filaments (10) surround the core filament (16) and the outer layer filaments (20) surround the intermediate layer filaments (10). The first diameter is substantially smaller than the second diameter and is substantially greater than the diameter of the circle (12) inscribed in the compact figuration of the cross-sections of the intermediate layer filaments (10) in case of no core filament. Such a steel cord has a full rubber penetration.
