    摘要: An object of the invention is to provide a wavelength division multiplexing optical transmission apparatus and a wavelength division multiplexing optical transmission method which are capable of reducing the transmission quality deterioration of polarization multiplexed optical signals generated in an optical fiber transmission line and are suitable for dense wavelength division multiplexing. A wavelength division multiplexing optical transmission apparatus (11) includes a plurality of polarization multiplexing optical modulation means (2-1 to 2-N), polarization-maintaining optical multiplexing means (3), and delay adjustment means (4). The polarization multiplexing optical modulation means (2-1 to 2-N) generate a plurality of polarization multiplexed optical modulation signals (P-1 to P-N) having different wavelengths. The polarization-maintaining optical multiplexing means (3) multiplexes the wavelengths of the polarization multiplexed optical modulation signals (P-1 to P-N) to generate a wavelength multiplexed optical signal (WDM). The delay adjustment means (4) adjusts a delay such that light intensities of polarization multiplexed optical modulation signals having adjacent wavelengths in the wavelength multiplexed optical signal (WDM) vary inversely with respect to each other.

An optical communication device equipped with: multiple light output units that output optical signals of mutually different wavelengths; a multiplexing unit that outputs a wavelength-multiplexed signal by multiplexing the multiple optical signals output from the multiple light output units; a reference light output unit that outputs reference light serving as a reference; a wavelength generation unit that, on the basis of the reference light, outputs multiple light beams having a wavelength interval in accordance with a prescribed frequency; and a wavelength control unit that controls the wavelength of the optical signals output by the light output units in accordance with the interference component between the wavelength-multiplexed signal and light with the wavelength of at least one of the multiple light beams.
