    摘要： A seal device provided with a sealing flange and a sealing lip in slidable contact with the sealing flange, wherein the occurrence of still leakage is suppressed when a rotating shaft stops rotating. To achieve this purpose, the invention provides a seal device for sealing the space between a housing and a rotating shaft inserted through a shaft hole provided in the housing to prevent a sealed fluid inside the device from leaking out of the device, a sealing lip fitted to the inner periphery of the shaft hole of the housing being in slidable contact with the entire periphery of a sealing flange fitted to the outer periphery of the rotating shaft; and the seal device being characterized in that a screw groove is provided for exerting a fluid pumping action when the rotating shaft rotates, and the screw groove is provided to a position where the screw groove does not cross the contact area in which the sealing lip is in slidable contact with the entire periphery of the sealing flange.
