摘要: A charging roll includes a core member, a rubber base material disposed around the core member, and a surface layer disposed around the rubber base material. The average of heights of contours of convex portions relative to an average cylindrical surface obtained by averaging surface irregularities of the surface layer is equal to or greater than 2.0 micrometers and is equal to or less than 8.4 micrometers. The average of intervals between apexes of the convex portions on the surface of the surface layer is equal to or greater than 6.7 micrometers and is equal to or less than 39.8 micrometers.

摘要: An electroconductive roll includes a core member, a rubber base material disposed around the core member, and a surface layer disposed around the rubber base material. The arithmetic mean peak curvature S pc of a surface of the surface layer is equal to or greater than 1,880 (1/mm), and is equal to or less than 14,024 (1/mm). The density of peaks S pd of the surface of the surface layer is equal to or greater than 93,406 (1/mm 2 ), and is equal to or less than 151,476 (1/mm 2 ). The surface area of the surface layer per unit projected area is equal to or greater than 1.255, and is equal to or less than 5.132.

摘要: A charging roll includes a core, a rubber substrate arranged around the core, and a surface layer arranged around the rubber substrate. The surface layer includes a conductive matrix containing a base material formed of an insulator, and a conductive material dispersed in the base material, and particles of a surface roughness-imparting material dispersed in the conductive matrix. Each of the particles of the surface roughness-imparting material is formed of an insulator, is porous, and has a specific surface area of 8.7 m 2 /g or greater and 55m 2 /g or less.

摘要: A developing roll for use in an image-forming apparatus that uses electrophotography includes a cylindrical core made of metal; an annular elastic layer made of rubber and arranged around the core; and an annular surface layer arranged around the elastic layer. The surface layer includes a central portion and end portions, the central portion being located at the center of the developing roll in the longitudinal direction, the end portions being located at opposite end portions of the developing roll in the longitudinal direction. A coefficient of kinetic friction of the outer peripheral surface of each end portion of the surface layer is less than or equal to 0.1, and a ten-point average roughness R z of the outer peripheral surface of each end portion of the surface layer is less than or equal to 1.8 µm.

摘要: A developing roll has a metal core member, an elastic layer disposed around the core member, and a surface layer disposed around the elastic layer. In the developing roll, a value X is equal to or greater than 65.6 N/mm 3 and a value Y is equal to or greater than 229 µm. The value X is calculated from P 1 /(D 2 × A) - P 2 /(D 2 × A). P 1 is the load required to displace the developing roll by a depth of 100 µm in a radial direction when a truncated cone-shaped metal probe having a distal end of which a diameter is 40 µm is pressed against the developing roll. D 1 is the displacement of the developing roll caused by the probe under the load P 1 . A is the distal end area of the probe. P 2 is the load required to displace a material roll by a depth of 100 µm in a radial direction when the probe is pressed against the material roll that includes the core member and the elastic layer and does not include the surface layer. D 2 is the displacement of the material roll caused by the probe under the load P 2 . The value Y is the displacement of the developing roll caused by the probe when the probe, which is pressed against the developing roll and is displaced in a radial direction of the developing roll, pierces the surface layer.
