摘要: A dual mode - e.g. a GSM/DECT - terminal requires new qualities of a mobile telephone network, e.g. for numbering, mobility management and call routing of the DMT subscriber. According to the invention, the DMT subscriber has one primary subscriber number, either a DDI number, a MSISDN number or a so called personal number especially reserved for this service. In calling the DMT subscriber, the primary number is used regardless of whether the subscriber is in an exchange area or in the mobile telephone network. The intelligent network technology takes care of location updating. Subscriber location is checked in the service control point (SCP) of the intelligent network (IN). A call terminating at the DMT subscriber is routed to the address given by the intelligent network.

摘要: A method and an arrangement for subscriber location management among a group of radio networks comprising at least two radio networks (101, PMR1, PMR2) in which at least some of the subscribers (SBR1, SBR2, SBR3) may roam away from the home network and register in another radio network over the radio path. To enable centralized subscriber location management, the subscriber database (HLR) of one radio network (101) is arranged to maintain in a centralized manner the location data of all subscribers (SBR1) that have roamed outside their home networks and registered in another radio network (PMR2) at least with an accuracy of a radio network.

摘要: Charging criteria in a mobile telephone network may be improved by choosing one cell or a group of several cells of the mobile telephone network as a group of special cells. The cells of the group may be located in the areas of different MSC's. When a call is being established, a service control point SCP located in an intelligent network analyses whether the location cell of a calling subscriber and that of a called subscriber belong to the group of special cells. Subscriber numbers of the subscribers may also be taken into account. The service control point SCP then applies a special charging criterion determined for the group. In a case where the location cell of the calling subscriber and that of the called subscriber are located in separate MSC areas (MSC1/SSP1, MSC2/SSP2), the information on the location cell of the called subscriber is transmitted to the service control point (SCP1) connected to the mobile switching centre (MSC1/SSP1) of the calling subscriber either directly or in a message in accordance with signalling used between MSC's.

摘要: Charging criteria in a mobile telephone network may be improved in such a way that one cell or a group of several cells of the mobile telephone network is chosen as a group of special cells. The cells of the group may be situated within different MSC areas. Upon establishing a call it is analysed whether the location cell of the calling subscriber and/or the location cell of the called subscriber belong to the group of special cells. When the location cell of the calling subscriber and that of the called subscriber are situated within separate MSC areas, information on the location cell of the called subscriber will be transmitted to the MSC of the calling subscriber before connecting a call. In accordance with a preferred embodiment, a subscriber group consisting of subscriber numbers is determined. Thus, various call tarifs may be applied on the basis of the fact whether the subscribers belong to the group of special cells, and/or whether the subscriber numbers belong to the subscriber group.

摘要: PCT No. PCT/FI93/00399 Sec. 371 Date Jun. 6, 1994 Sec. 102(e) Date Jun. 6, 1994 PCT Filed Oct. 6, 1993 PCT Pub. No. WO94/08406 PCT Pub. Date Apr. 14, 1994A cellular radio network, and methods for updating location and setting up a call in a cellular radio network. The network comprises at least one mobile subsystem, which serves conventional mobile stations. The network knows the location of the subsystem and the mobile stations with an accuracy of a location area. The location data of a mobile station registered in the subsystem is the identification data of the subsystem, which is not updated again until the radio station leaves the subsystem. In the call set-up, a two-stage interrogation is conducted: first, the identifier of the subsystem is obtained as the location data of the mobile station; second, the current location of the subsystem where the call will be routed to is obtained by means of the identifier of the subsystem.
