摘要: A secure container cover for a container and manufacturing method therefore are provided. The secure container cover includes an integrally molded body with an annular structure and a side wall. The annular structure includes a central void defined by an intermediate perimeter, and a graspable loop integrally formed with the annular structure is configured to reside within the central void. A tear initiation point is formed where the graspable loop joins the annular structure. A thin section extends from the tear initiation point to a bottom edge of the side wall. The graspable loop is detachably connected to the annular structure at a bridging section. The bridging section is configured to break when an upward biasing force is applied to the graspable loop, and the side wall is configured to separate along the thin section when the graspable loop is pulled away from the body of the secure container cover.

The annular structures (12) may include a side wall (16) formed of side wall portions (18) separated by side wall voids (20). Each side wall portion (18) has an upper and a lower side wall segment (24, 26) joined at a ledge (28), with the upper side wall segment (24) having a smaller diameter (D 1 ) relative to the lower side wall segment (26) of the side wall portion (18). Flanges (30) are positioned at the bottom of each side wall void (20) to collectively engage containers (CON). The bottom portion (32) of the lower side wall segment (26) has an inner diameter (ID) that is larger than the outer diameter (OD) of the upper side wall (24) and smaller than the outer diameter (LOD) of the ledge (28) such that the bottom (32) of a first container carrier (10) will rest upon the ledge (28) of a second, same-shaped container carrier (10) when stacked.

The annular structures each include a side wall (16) formed of side wall portions (18) separated by side wall voids (20) and a top surface (22). Flexible flanges (30) are positioned at the bottom of each side wall void (20) to collectively engage containers (CON). The flanges are configured to project inwardly and are oriented upwardly at an angle. The top surfaces (22) of the annular structures (12) include notched voids (40) continuous with respective side wall voids (20) such that the flanges (30) can be accommodated by the notched voids in a top surface of a second, same-shaped container carrier (10) when stacked. A method for manufacturing the carrier is also disclosed.
