摘要:
According to an aspect, a method for producing a custom-fit earmold adapted to be securely retained in an ear canal and/ or ear of a user is disclosed. The method includes obtaining a multi-dimensional image of the pinna and/ or ear canal and identifying a plurality of retention possibility points (RPPs) from a plurality of points available at a surface of the image, the plurality of points representing corresponding points at a surface of the pinna and/ or ear canal. Thereafter, the custom-fit earmold utilizing at least one retention point selected from the plurality of RPPs is modeled.

The invention describes a hearing device (10) with a BTE (Behind-The-Ear) unit (12) and an air filled tube (26). The BTE unit (12) comprises a power source (18), a microphone (16), an amplifier (20), and a receiver (22) and is configured to be mounted behind or on the ear (14) of a user. The air filled tube (26) has a proximal end (24) and a distal end (40). The proximal end (24) of the air filled tube (26) is connected to the receiver (22) of the BTE unit (12) and a flexible sealing part (38; 50; 50'; 56) is provided at the distal end (40). The flexible sealing part (38; 50; 50'; 56) comprises a core hole (44) permeable for sound transmitted from the air filled tube (26) through a core pathway (32). The air filled tube (26) is further configured to be arranged in a user's ear canal (30) to transmit sound generated by the BTE unit (10) to a tympanic membrane (48) of the user. The flexible sealing part (38; 50; 50'; 56) is arranged in a bony portion (42) of the user's ear canal (30) when in use. The diameter of the flexible sealing part (38; 50; 50'; 56) is at least as large as the diameter of the bony portion (42) of the ear canal (30) of a user to close the ear canal (30).

According to an embodiment, a hearing aid comprising a custom-fit ear mold is disclosed. The custom fit ear mold includes a retention part comprising a structure adapted to lock anatomically with at least one point at a surface of the pinna and/ or ear canal when the custom-fit earmold is positioned in the pinna and/ or ear canal of the user. The at least one point represents at least one retention point selected from the plurality of retention possibility points (RPPs), wherein each RPP of the plurality of the RPPs comprises a point wherein a normal, at the RPP, to a tangent plane containing the RPP intersects at another point at surface of the pinna and/ or ear canal such that the another point is proximal to a tympanic membrane of the user compared to position of the RPP relative to the tympanic membrane.

The application relates to a portable hearing assistance device comprising an input unit, an output unit, a forward path between the input unit and the output unit, and an energy source for energizing components of the hearing assistance device. The application further relates to a method of providing a low-power mode in a hearing assistance device and to the use of a hearing assistance device. The object of the present application is to provide an improved concept for switching a hearing assistance device to or from a low-power mode. The problem is solved in that the hearing assistance device comprises a control unit configured to control the activation (or deactivation) of a low-power mode of operation of the hearing assistance device, wherein - when said low-power mode is activated - the draw of current from said energy source is reduced compared to a normal mode of operation of the device, the activation (or deactivation) being influenced by a combination of at least two different control input signals to the control unit, each control input signal being a signal selected from the group of signals comprising 1) signals relating to a current physical environment of the hearing assistance device, 2) signals relating to a current acoustic environment of the hearing assistance device, 3) signals relating to a current state of a wearer of the hearing assistance device, and 4) signals relating to a current state or mode of operation of the hearing assistance device and/or of another device in communication with the hearing assistance device. This has the advantage of improving functionality of the hearing assistance device. The invention may e.g. be used in hearing aids, headsets, ear phones, active ear protection systems, etc., or combinations thereof.

A hearing aid is provided with a casing where to a battery drawer or lid is movably attached for movement between a closed position and an open position, where the open position grants access to a battery, wherein a leverage tool is removably fastened to the battery drawer. By way of the leverage tool, a hearing aid user with poor dexterity may now easily open the battery drawer.

The application relates to a method of fitting a binaural hearing aid system to a user. The application further relates to a binaural hearing aid system, to a hearing aid fitting system and to a hearing aid system. The object of the present application is to provide an alternative scheme for fitting a binaural hearing aid system for a person with a small or moderate asymmetrical hearing loss. The problem is solved in that the method comprises • providing first hearing loss data for a right ear of a user; • providing second hearing loss data for a left ear of a user; • determining a hearing loss difference measure indicative of a difference between said first and second hearing loss data; • classifying the degree of similarity of the first and second hearing loss data based on said hearing loss difference measure into at least two different hearing loss classes SIMILAR and DIFFERENT; • determining basic hearing loss data to form the basis for calculating sets of frequency dependent target gain values for each of the first and second hearing instruments depending on said hearing loss classes, wherein said basic hearing loss data are identical for the first and second hearing instruments, if said hearing loss class is SIMILAR; and • calculating the sets of frequency dependent target gain values for each of the first and second hearing instruments. An advantage of the method is that it may increase the first time acceptance of the hearing aid system compared to previous fitting schemes. The invention may e.g. be used in binaural hearing aid systems fitted to a user with an asymmetrical hearing loss.
