摘要： A sheet feeder of bottom feed type for use in an image reader or the like, in which a sheet can be fed properly into an apparatus at all times regardless of the amount of sheets stacked on a sheet stack tray. In order to transfer a sheet stacked on the sheet stack tray into the apparatus, a first pick roller capable of imparting a pressure by means of a pick roll, and a second pick roller for assisting the first pick roller in the center of the sheet stack tray are provided. The second pick roller is provided with a shutter which is closed when the number or the weight of sheets stacked on the sheet stack tray is a predetermined value or less, thus preventing the pick roller from coming into contact with the sheet.
