摘要: A gas separation system has system input inlet configured to receive a stream mixture including a target gas, one or more spray generators positioned to spray a non-sprayable capture liquid to change a concentration of the target gas in the non-sprayable capture liquid, one or more system outlets positioned to outlet an output material, wherein at least one of the system outlets outputs a material having a lower amount of the target gas than the input stream mixture, and a recirculating path connected to the one or more outputs and the input inlet to allow recirculation of the non-sprayable capture liquid. A method of performing gas separation includes absorbing a target gas from an input stream in a non-sprayable capture liquid, and releasing the target gas in an output gas stream by spraying the non-sprayable capture liquid into a heated volume using a spray generator. A method of performing gas separation includes receiving an input stream that includes a target gas, using one or more spray generators to apply a non-sprayable capture liquid as a spray to the input stream to change a concentration of the target gas in the liquid, and outputting the liquid with the changed concentration through an outlet.

摘要: According to aspects of the embodiments, there is provided method and system of using a roller-based deposition process to place two or more powders at some level of precision to build a multi-material, functionally-graded part. Instead of formulating a liquid ink by dispersing the powder feedstocks (metal or ceramic) in some binder-solvent mixture, there is detailed the use of two different types of fluid deposited in a digital manner on the roller surface. The two different types of fluids create a "wetted pixel" that can then capture a specific powder type with an affinity only to that fluid. Alternatives such as electrostatics, electrophotography, and the like are also provided to be used exclusively or with fluids to create an affine pixel to a particular powder type.

摘要: Microorganisms present within a plurality of microorganism clusters immobilized in a porous support material may collectively define a supported bio-catalyst. When the microorganisms are effective to convert methane into one or more oxidized carbon compounds (e.g., methanotrophic bacteria), the supported bio-catalysts may be utilized to remove methane from methane-containing gas streams, such as those obtained from mining ventilation. Methods for processing a methane-containing gas stream may comprise interacting the gas stream with the supported bio-catalyst in substantial absence of a liquid phase, and obtaining a methane-depleted gas stream downstream from the supported bio-catalyst. Systems for processing a methane-containing gas stream may comprise the supported bio-catalysts housed in one or more vessels fluidly coupled to a source of methane-containing gas stream. A gas concentration in the methane-containing gas stream and/or the methane-depleted gas stream may be used to determine a current state or anticipated remaining lifetime of the supported bio-catalyst.

摘要: A ceramic matrix composite has fibers, a ceramic matrix bonded to the fibers, and ceramic particles, distributed throughout the matrix. A method includes mixing a high char ceramic resin precursor with ceramic particles, adding a catalyst to create a mixture, heating the mixture to produce functionalized ceramic particles, and cooling the mixture to produce a resin having functionalized particles.

摘要: A method of recycling fiber reinforced polymers includes grinding used fiber reinforced polymers material to produce ground particles, functionalizing the ground particles to produce functionalized particles, dispersing the functionalized particles into a base resin, dispensing the resin with functionalized particles into one or more layers of continuous fiber mats, molding the resin with functionalized particles and the continuous fiber mats into a form of a desired part, and curing the form to produce the part. The used fiber reinforced polymer materials may be carbon fiber reinforced polymers or glass fiber reinforced polymer materials.
