摘要: An optical disc device (2) includes: an optical pickup (4) including a first laser light source (10) that emits laser light, an objective lens (24) that focuses the laser light emitted from the first laser light source (10) onto an optical disc (8), and a light receiving element (30) that receives reflected light from the optical disc (8), and performs photoelectric conversion on the reflected light received to output a received-light signal; an FS signal generator (54) that generates an FS signal indicating the light amount of the reflected light from the optical disc (8), based on the received-light signal from the light receiving element (30); and a dirt determiner (56) that determines that dirt is present in the optical pickup (4), when the peak level of the FS signal is less than a dirt determination threshold, and controls the light receiving element (30) to increase the peak level of the received-light signal from the light receiving element (30).

摘要: An optical pickup device capable of improving playback performance in L2-layer at a time of playback of a triple-layer structure optical disc is provided. The optical pickup device includes a semiconductor laser that emits a laser beam, and an object lens that concentrates the laser beam emitted from the semiconductor laser on the optical disc. In this optical pickup device, an optical axis of the object lens is inclined with respect to an optical axis of the laser beam that is incident on the object lens so as to generate flares caused by coma aberration on an entrance side in a forward direction of pits of the optical disc.
