    摘要: The invention relates to a method for stabilizing a subgrade (19) that has been exposed after a track and ballast have been removed, wherein, in a first work pass, in a work segment (20) adjoining a rear tracked chassis with respect to a working direction (4), in parallel with the removal of the ballast (9), a loosening of the subgrade (19), an introduction of additives (30), and a leveling occur. In a second work pass, the subgrade (19) mixed with additives is throughly mixed by being picked up by means of an excavating chain (8) and by being transported further to a throw-off point (24) behind the rear tracked chassis (6) and is thrown off back onto the exposed subgrade (19), whereupon a restoration layer (26) is formed by leveling and compacting the thrown-off subgrade.

Arranged in the junction region (13) of the gap (12) in the ballast bed and a ballast bed of a neighbouring track, adjoining when viewed in the transverse direction of the machine, is a support wall (16) which runs in the longitudinal direction of the machine, is positioned between the ballast pick‑up device (8) and the ballast discharge point (10) and is connected to the machine.
