摘要： The machine comprises in combination: a series of accurately sized holes (21) to fit the dimensions of the coins (M) that are to be sorted, the holes being arranged along a path on which the coins advance; and a member (15) that drives the coins along said path. The holes are arranged in order of size from the smallest hole to the largest hole in the direction of advance of the coins along said path. Upstream of each accurately sized hole (21), with reference to the direction of advance of the coins along the path, is a sensor (35) for detecting the passage of the coins. A control unit (49) is also connected to the sensors and programmed to determine, on the basis of the signals emitted by the sensors, the number of coins that drop into each accurately sized hole on the basis of the difference between the number of coins detected by the sensors associated with the holes.
