Polymer latex coatings used as adhesives in heat-recoverable and/or high-voltage protective articles where latex adhesives not previously considered useful. Acrylic latexes are unexpectedly acceptable in high-voltage applications, and vinyl acetate/ethylene copolymers and terpolymer latexes are especially useful on polyolefin-based heat-recoverable articles. The latex coatings are substantially free from curing additives and are preferably non-curing, although latexes of inherently curable polymers may be used.
