摘要： Mica-wrapped wires for fire-resistant cables have an unusually low degree of overlap in the mica tape wraps, which unexpectably produces a smoother external profile while retaining an acceptable degree of fire protection. Two layers of glass-cloth-backed mica tape, preferably with a polymer film overlying the cloth, are preferably applied with their respective (low) overlaps staggered. This smoother wrapping is especially effective when thin (less than 0.8 mm) polymer coatings are to be extruded over the wrapped wire.
