Abstract:
An aircraft interface device (12) receives aircraft system data over an aircraft data bus structure (26) and remote data received via a wireless transceiver. The remote data originates from a computing device that is remote from the aircraft and/or aircraft system devices installed on the aircraft. The aircraft interface (12) device executes a conditional algorithm that includes a plurality of conditional expressions (40; 48A-48F) that are logically organized to define a trigger (42; 50) that initiates a triggered action (44; 52A-52C). The plurality of conditional expressions (40; 48A-48F) include a first conditional expression based upon the aircraft system data and a second conditional expression based upon the remote data. The aircraft interface device (12) executes the triggered action (44; 52A-52C) responsive to determining that the trigger (42; 50) is satisfied. The triggered action (44; 52A-52C) includes at least one of transmitting an alert, transmitting a report, and storing a report.
Abstract:
An example method includes receiving, by an aircraft interface device (12) installed on an aircraft (14), data corresponding to operational characteristics of the aircraft (14), and determining, by the aircraft interface device (12), whether the data corresponding to the operational characteristics of the aircraft (14) indicates that an aircraft anomaly condition is present. The method further includes storing, by the aircraft interface device (12), selected data corresponding to the operational characteristics of the aircraft (14) at a first storage frequency in response to determining that the aircraft anomaly condition is not present, and storing, by the aircraft interface device (12), the selected data corresponding to the operational characteristics of the aircraft (14) at a second storage frequency that is greater than the first storage frequency in response to determining that the aircraft anomaly condition is present.
Abstract:
A method for data loading with a tablet includes receiving one or more software updates published by a ground station and storing the software updates on the tablet. The method also includes establishing communications between the tablet and a tablet interface module of an aircraft and determining if software on the aircraft needs to be updated. Based on determining that the software on the aircraft needs to be updated, the method includes transmitting at least one of the one or more software updates to the tablet interface module for loading into the aircraft and monitoring an installation process of the software updates in the aircraft via the tablet interface module.

Abstract:
Apparatus and associated methods relate to rendering an image of objects (12, 16, 18, 20, 22, 34, 36) in a region of an airport taxiway. The image is rendered from data provided by multiple sources. Three-dimensional models of static airport structures (12, 16, 18, 20, 22) located within the region of an airport taxiway are provided. Rendered image data of the region of the airport taxiway if formed based on the retrieved three-dimensional models of the static airport structures (12, 16, 18, 20, 22). Data indicative of locations of dynamic objects (34, 36) within the region of the airport taxiway is also provided. Symbols (40) identifying the dynamic objects (34, 36) within the region of the airport taxiway are mapped into the rendered image data at the locations indicated by the provided data. The rendered image data is sent to a display device configured to display the rendered image data.
