    摘要: A fixing device (20) includes a support member (25) disposed to support a nip formation member on an inner peripheral surface of a fixing belt (21). The support member includes a parallel portion (25a) that supports the nip formation member (24) and extends parallel to a sheet transport direction in a nip portion, and a rise portion (25b) that extends from the parallel portion in a direction drawn apart from the nip portion. The rise portion is inclined to the parallel portion such that an inclination direction of the rise portion is substantially parallel to a virtual straight line (L) connecting a center of rotation (X) of the fixing belt and an inlet point (Y) of the nip portion or falls within a range of rotational angles of ± 15° by which the virtual straight line is rotated around the center of rotation of the fixing belt.

When the cam is at a first rotation position, the image carrying face and contact face are separated, and when the cam is at a second rotation position, the image carrying face and contact face contact. Before the recording medium enters the transfer nip, the cam rotates from the first rotation position toward the second rotation position. After the recording medium enters the transfer nip, the cam is at the second rotation position to press the image carrying face with the contact face.

    摘要: A transfer-separation device includes an intermediate transfer unit (11), a secondary transfer roller (22), a repulsive roller (16), a transfer unit, and a charge-eliminating/separating member (23). The secondary transfer roller (22) and the repulsive roller (16) form a nip through which the intermediate transfer unit (11) and a recording medium pass. The transfer unit applies a bias voltage of a polarity identical to that of a toner image to the repulsive roller (16) to secondarily transfer the toner image onto the recording medium. The charge-eliminating/separating member (23) separates the recording medium from the intermediate transfer unit (11) by removing charge therefrom. The volume resistance of the repulsive roller (16) is greater than that of the secondary transfer roller (22). The surface resistance of the secondary transfer roller (22) is equal to or greater than 10 6.5 ohm.
