摘要： A fixing device (20) includes a first radiant heater (23A) and a second radiant heater (23B) that heat an endless belt (21). A nip formation pad (24) is disposed inside a loop formed by the endless belt (21) to form a fixing nip (N) between the endless belt (21) and a pressure rotator (22). A contact heater (26) heats at least one lateral end of the endless belt (21) in an axial direction of the endless belt (21). Each of the nip formation pad (24) and the contact heater (26) includes a nip-side face (24c; 26c) disposed opposite the endless belt (21). A thermal conduction aid (27) covers the nip-side face (24c; 26c) of each of the nip formation pad (24) and the contact heater (26) and conducts heat applied to the endless belt (21) in the axial direction of the endless belt (21).

摘要： The problem that the temperature of a fixing roller is liable to fluctuate wide when a large-capacitance capacitor is used as an auxiliary power source is solved. A heating apparatus has a heating section (11) the temperature of which rises by the heat radiated by heating members (11a, 11b), a main power source (14) which uses an external power source to supply power to the heating member (11a), and a large-capacitance capacitor constituted of cells (15a, 15b) used as an auxiliary power source (15) charged by the external power source to supply power to the heating member (11b). The connection of the cells (15a, 15b) is changed during at least discharging.

摘要： A heating device of the invention comprises a heater, a main power supply, and an auxiliary power supply. The heater includes a main heating element which generates heat with power supplied from the main power supply, and an auxiliary heating element which has a resistance different from a resistance of the main heating element and generates heat with power supplied from the auxiliary power supply. The auxiliary power supply is provided to supply to the auxiliary heating element a current that is different from a current supplied from the main power supply to the main heating element.

The heating apparatus includes a heating roller (11) that is heated by heating units (11a and 11b), a main power supply (14) that supplies power from an external power supply to the main heating unit (11a), and an auxiliary power supply (15) that supplies power to the auxiliary heating unit (11b). The auxiliary power supply (15) further includes a mass capacitor that consists of multiple capacitor cells (15a and 15b), which are charged by the external power supply. The connection mode of the capacitor cells is changed at least at the time of electric discharge.
