摘要： A dual pocket loader wheel assembly (5) for use on a continuous motion packaging machine (7) is disclosed. The dual pocket loader wheel assembly (5) has an elongate tubular member supported for rotation on a framework (8) positioned on the packaging machine (7) with respect to a carton transport conveyor (19). A drive frame is positioned at one end of the tubular member and rotatably supports a spaced pair of pocket loader wheels (46, 48) thereon. The loader wheel assembly (5) can be rotated to reverse the position of the dual pocket loader wheels (46, 48) with respect to the carton transport conveyor (19). Each pocket loader wheel (46, 48) is sized and shaped to engage flaps at an open end of a carton and fold the flaps into a closed position as it passes thereby.

摘要： An article packaging machine comprises a frame (12), a carton conveyor (18) mounted to the frame for conveying cartons (81) along a carton path, and an infeed conveyor assembly for grouping articles such as beverage cans into groups of predetermined size and moving them toward and into open cartons moving along the carton path. When the cartons are packed with articles, adhesive is applied to the flaps of their open ends and the flaps are folded over onto themselves. A spring biased free floating compression section has a pair of opposed compression belt assemblies (26, 27) that are yieldably spring biased toward each other to apply pressure to the ends of the containers to set the adhesive, thus sealing the ends of the packaged cartons shut. When the cartons are sealed, they are ejected from the packaging machine by a pair of opposed ejector belt assemblies (48).

摘要： An automatic selector wedge changing assembly (5) for a continuous motion packaging machine (7) includes a carriage assembly (51) which reciprocates along a horizontal guide rail (52) in substantial alignment with a selector belt (13) on the packaging machine (7). The carriage assembly (51) includes a vertical guide rail (56) for moving a wedge changing head (57) vertically relative to the selector belt (13) and storage pallets (71, 72, 73) which hold series of selector wedges. The assembly (5) removes a first series of selector wedges from the selector belt (13), places them of a first storage pallet (71), removes a second series of selector wedges from a second storage pallet (72), and attaches them to the selector belt (13).
