摘要： A device for securing the rails is provided at the ends of a rail carrying train for transporting longitudinally welded rails, said device being composed of a number of plug-in devices (13) which are each provided for securing an individual rail (5) and have an insertion opening (20) and a rail stop (22). Each plug-in device (13) has two clamping jaws (14) which, in order to form the insertion opening (20), are spaced apart from one another in a direction which is normal with respect to a rail web (21) of the rail (5) which is to be clamped tight. At least one clamping jaw (14) is equipped with a clamping means (23) for making contact with the rail web (21) and an automatic, frictionally locking connection to said clamping means (23), which connection acts counter to a push-in direction (24). The two clamping jaws (14) are designed to be capable of being spaced apart from one another in order to release the frictionally locking connection to the rail web (21).
