Abstract: The invention concerns a device for controlling a battery (2) recharging from a current generator (1), wherein is used the following method which consists in: operating a cyclic variation of the charging current value from an initial value; monitoring the battery (2) temperature to find therein and measure a corresponding temperature variation; and reducing the current value if the temperature variation exceeds a set threshold (14). The invention is applicable to portable terminals.
