    摘要： A magenta ink that excels in the color reproduction in a region of high color saturation and low lightness, reducing the possibility of clogging in inkjet recording heads, and that also exhibits enhanced luster; and an ink set for inkjet recording, including this ink. There is provided a magenta ink composition wherein with respect to a ≤ 10,000-fold dilute aqueous solution, when the a*-value according to CIE standard calculated from visual absorption spectrum is 80, the relevant b*-value is ≤ -29. Further, there is provided a magenta ink composition wherein with respect to a dilute aqueous solution of 2×10-3 g/l pigment content, the a*-value according to CIE standard calculated from visual absorption spectrum is preferably ≥ 7. Still further, there is provided an ink set including such an ink composition. Moreover, there is provided a magenta ink composition wherein with respect to a ≤ 10,000-fold dilute aqueous solution, when the a*-value according to CIE standard calculated from visual absorption spectrum is 80, the relevant b*-value is in the range of -38 to -29; and provided a magenta ink composition wherein with respect to a dilute aqueous solution of 2×10-3 g/l pigment content, the a*-value according to CIE standard calculated from visual absorption spectrum is preferably ≥ 5; and provided an ink set including such an ink composition.
