摘要: The display quality of a reflection type liquid crystal display device is improved by taking a balance between a white display and black display due to the scattering thereby to achieve a bright black-and-white display. For this, there is provided a structure comprising: a light control layer sandwiched between two transparent electrodes for transmitting 60% or more of an incident light irrespective of the change in the voltage level between the transparent electrodes; and a reflection layer having a reflectivity of 10 to 50% and disposed at the back of the light control layer.

摘要: The invention provides a reflection-type liquid crystal display device with improved display quality by eliminating the double image phenomenon and providing a bright display screen. Display electrodes 2a also serving as a reflection plate and a pattern 2b in a non-driving display region are formed on the surface of a transparent substrate 1 with a metal such as aluminium, to form a reflection substrate. A polymer dispersed liquid crystal 5 is provided between the reflection substrate and another, opposed transparent substrate 1 on which a transparent conductive film 3 is formed. As a result, a reflection-type liquid crystal display device which is inexpensive, very bright, and free of the double image phenomenon can be relaxed.
